The Patchwork Quilt is a delightfully sweet story of the special bond that develops between a young girl named Tannya and her grandmother with the creation of her grandmother's masterpiece, the patchwork quilt. After being inspired by her grandmother, Tanya begins to save scrap pieces of clothing from special occasions to make a quilt. When her grandmother's becomes ill, she works tirelessly with the help of her mom to finish the quilt. When the whole family comes to take part, they share memories of all the different pieces of their family history, and significant stages in their family's growth. Grandma reminds them "a quilt never forgets." This book teaches about quilting, about tradition and reminds readers to care about family.
